About Gadsden County, Florida, U.S., Compiled Marriages, 1851-1875

Florida was the first Atlantic colony to be settled, but the last to be admitted to the Union. Upon receiving statehood in March 1845, its people had lived under the flags of four sovereign nations: Spain, France, Great Britain, and the United States. When completed, this database will contain most of the marriage records for the state of Florida. Currently, it consists of records for Gadsden County, with more counties to follow. Researchers will find such information as the names of both brides and groom, the date of the marriage, and the place of marriage.

Gadsden County was created in 1823 from Jackson County. The records from the county in this database cover the years 1851 through 1875.
