About History of the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania
Historically Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania included the greater portion of land from Lake Champlain to Tennessee, if not to the Mississippi River. The valley is bounded by the Kittatinny or Blue Mountains on the north and The Blue Ridge of Virginia on the south. From the Delaware River to the Susquehanna River it covers about 12 to 15 miles.
This history of the Lehigh Valley includes an outline of the history of Pennsylvania, history of Old Northampton County, and the histories of Northampton, Lehigh, and Carbon counties in Pennsylvania. It also includes a complete history of all of the towns and villages in the valley from their first settlement until the printing of this volume in 1860.
