This collection includes records of deaths that occurred in Wyoming between 1909 and 1971. The records are official death certificates created by the attending physicians or coroner at the time of death of a person. The earliest records in the collection have handwritten information, but later records were typed.

The records in this collection may help you confirm that your ancestor died in Wyoming at a specific point in time. You also may be able to verify how old your ancestor was at death and how they died. Wyoming death records are closed for 50 years after the death. To inquire about more recent records, contact the Wyoming Department of Health Vital Statistics Records Office in Cheyenne.
