Guilford College
Guilford College was founded in 1837 by the Society of Friends (Quakers) as the New Garden Boarding School to serve the children of Quakers in the area. The school became a four-year college in 1888.
Earlham College
Earlham College was founded in 1847 by the Society of Friends (Quakers) as a boarding school. The school became a college in 1859.
