About Eton School Lists, 1791-1850

This compilation is a chronological list of boys who attended the prestigious Eton College in Buckinghamshire (now Berkshire), England. Each entry includes the name of the student, along with notes including personal information about him. These can include details about his origin or notes about his achievements in life after Eton, particularly those of a military nature. In some cases you’ll find biographical information, such as occupation or death details.

Eton was founded in 1441 by King Henry VI. The K.S. that appears along some names stands for King's Scholars, students at the school who are awarded a scholarship and lived in the house, or College, provided for King’s Scholars. No K.S. by the name indicates the student was an "Oppidan"—students who did not come to Eton as King’s Scholars.
